Bayelsa state government has released programme of events to commemorate the 56th anniversary of Nigeria and Bayelsa state at 20. A statement by Mr. Jonathan Obuebite commissioner for information and orientation says the state government has put together a low-budget program to mark the 20 years mile stone.
He says there will be a special 20th anniversary television documentary while governor Seriake Dickson is expected to deliver a 20th anniversary radio and television broadcast on Saturday. The statement said the broadcast will precede interaction with secondary school students, command performance, presentation of books, photo exhibition at the Gabriel Okpara cultural center. It noted that the anniversary will be rounded off on Sunday with a variety night featuring music and comedy at the Gabriel Okpara cultural center Yenagoa by 7 o’clock in the evening.
