The Leadership of Ijaw youths in central zone, ably led by Barr. Tare Porri, alongside the newly Elected Epie Clan Chairman, Comr. Oyisor Joseph-Abiah, paid a courtesy visit to the Department of Petroleum Resources, Yenagoa Branch, to familiarise and partner with the agency in attraction of development to the state.
Speaking during the visit, Porri appreciated the leadership of the agency, he hammered on the need for the agency to relocate its headquarter to the region, he reinstated his commitment to the Ijaw course, and maintained that the zonal leadership under his administration would continue to clamour for self-determination and resource control.
Porri demanded of the agency to fulfil its social responsibilities to their host state, he pledged that the IYC leadership was ready to partner with them for speedy development.
Reacting to the visit, Mr. Antai A. E, the Operations controller, Yenagoa office, applauded the leadership for their peaceful disposition and intellectual approach to their agitations, he explained that most junior staffs of the office were indigenes, though, according to him, all senior staffs are employed directly from Lagos.
Mr. Antai, stressed on the need for the leadership to extend its reach to the headquarters, noting that state offices have little or less to offer.
He assured the leadership of the agency’s support and partnership while he encouraged the youths to keep up with the struggle.
